In spring 2011 a small expedition of Nepalese and European women will climb Putha Hiunchuli, a peak of 7246 m in the Daulaghiri region in
Nepal. In order to reach an optimal acclimatization they will have a cultural exchange with the local women’s groups and get an introduction
to Buddhist philosophy. The expedition will strictly respect the local culture and take responsibility of the porters and the environment. The
climbing teams of one Nepalese and one European woman will climb with equal rights and responsibilities, as sisters and not as clients and
climbing Sherpani respectively. Nicole Niquille will assist the climbers during their ascent and will be the Base Camp Manager of the team.
As she is wheel-chair-dependent she and the expedition will face several challenges on their way to the base camp, where Nicole might
need to be carried in difficult traverses. All the Way and in the Base Camp she will be accompanied by her friend and physiotherapist
Ingrid.Hansen. The Putha Hiunchhuli is a technically not too difficult mountain but still is challenging due to the altitude. |
